Ingredients

2 c. white self-rising cornmeal
1/2 c. self-rising flour
1 whole or 2 egg whites
1 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 c. buttermilk
2 Tbsp. oil
1 tsp. cornmeal
Preparation

Heat oven to 400\u00b0.
Mix meal, flour, egg, soda and buttermilk in bowl.
Heat oil in cast-iron skillet or 8 to 9-inch cake pan until very hot.
Sprinkle in cornmeal and pour in bread dough. Place in oven and bake until brown on top.
