Great Grandmother Shiffer'S Molasses Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. flour
    1 c. sugar
    1/2 c. margarine
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1 c. molasses
    1 1/2 c. hot water
    1 tsp. baking soda
Preparation
    Combine sugar, flour, baking powder and margarine; work like pie crumbs.
    Set aside 1/2 cup crumbs for on top of cake.
    Add molasses and hot water with baking soda dissolved in it.
    Mix by hand into dry ingredients.
    Pour into long pan.
    Sprinkle crumbs on top.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 minutes.
    Mix by hand, not with mixer.
