Fruit Slices - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. butter or oleo
    1 3/4 c. sugar
    4 eggs
    1 tsp. vanilla
    3 c. sifted cake flour
    1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1 can pie filling (cherry, peach or blueberry)
    1/2 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Cream butter and sugar; add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
    Add vanilla.
    Sift dry ingredients together. Add to mixture gradually and beat well.
    Reserve 1 cup of this dough for topping.
