Layered Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 head lettuce, shredded
    1 c. diced celery
    1 c. diced or shredded carrots
    1 c. onion slices
    1 pkg. frozen peas, thawed and uncooked
    2 c. mayonnaise
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    shredded Cheddar cheese
    bacon bits
Preparation
    Layer vegetables as listed.
    Mix together mayonnaise and sugar. Spread over top layer.
    Top with shredded Cheddar cheese and bacon bits. Salad should be prepared several hours before serving.
    Place, covered, in refrigerator.
