Bierocks - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. ground beef
    1 medium onion, diced
    2 Tbsp. shortening
    2 pt. shredded cabbage
    salt and pepper to taste
    bread dough
    slices of American cheese
Preparation
    Brown meat and onion in shortening.
    Add cabbage.
    Mix, cover and cook until cabbage is tender.
    Roll out bread dough. Place 1/2 in casserole. Add meat mixture.
    Sprinkle American cheese, diced up, over meat mixture.
    Cover with remaining dough.
    Seal edges and prick top.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 minutes.
