Burnt Sugar Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. butter
    2 egg yolks
    2 c. flour
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1 c. water
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 c. flour
    2 tsp. baking powder
    2 well beaten egg whites
Preparation
    Beat the first 6 ingredients well.
    Add 1/2 cup flour which has been added to baking powder and mix well.
    Fold in egg whites.
    Put in 3 tablespoons of the syrup in the cake batter.
    Bake in layers on flat pan at 350\u00b0 until done.
