Toasted Spice Cake With The Frosting Baked In - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1/3 c. Crisco
1 c. sugar
2 egg yolks
1 1/4 c. flour, sifted
1/2 tsp. baking soda
2/3 c. sour milk
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
2 egg whites
1/2 c. light brown sugar
1/2 c. chopped nuts

Preparation

Blend Crisco with sugar and egg yolks.
Dissolve soda in milk. Add milk mixture alternately with sifted dry ingredients.
Add vanilla.
Mix until smooth.
Spread batter into greased and floured cake pan.
