Red Sugar Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. butter
    1/2 c. powdered sugar
    1 egg
    1/2 c. vegetable oil
    2 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
    1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
    1/2 tsp. soda
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
    red sugar crystals
Preparation
    Cream butter, gradually add sugar, beat until fluffy.
    Add egg, beat in oil.
    Combine flour, cream of tartar and soda and add. Stir in vanilla.
    Chill dough 2 hours (I usually chill overnight). Shape in 1 inch balls, dip tip in sugar, flatten with fork.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 8 to 10 minutes.
    Store in airtight container.
    Layer with wax paper.
    Makes 4 to 5 dozen cookies.
