Apple Fritters - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 to 4 apples, peeled and cored
    1 c. flour
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    1 tsp. salt
    1 egg, beaten
    2/3 c. milk
    2 Tbsp. melted butter
Preparation
    Sift together the flour, sugar and salt.
    Combine and stir egg, milk and butter into dry ingredients just until smooth; don't overbeat.
    Slice apples into rings and dip into batter one at a time.
    Heat 1 inch of oil to 375\u00b0.
    Fry fritters 3 minutes or until brown, turning once.
    Drain on paper towels.
    Serve hot, sprinkled with powdered sugar or maple syrup.
