Ingredients

2 eggs
2 c. sour milk or buttermilk
1 tsp. baking powder
2 c. flour
1/4 c. cornmeal
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. sugar
1 Tbsp. lard
1 Tbsp. butter
1 tsp. baking soda in 1 Tbsp. warm water
Preparation

Beat eggs light, add milk, flour sifted with cornmeal, baking powder, salt and sugar.
Melt lard and butter, add with soda dissolved in warm water.
Mix carefully and bake on well-greased waffle iron.
Serve hot with butter and syrup.
Sufficient for sixteen individual waffles.
