Mom'S Yeast Biscuits - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 pkg. dry yeast
5 Tbsp. water
1 c. shortening
2 c. buttermilk
5 c. all-purpose flour
5 tsp. baking powder
1 1/2 tsp. salt
3 Tbsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. soda
Preparation

Dissolve yeast in lukewarm water. Sift flour, soda, baking powder, salt and sugar. Add shortening to dry ingredients, blending with pastry blender. Add buttermilk (at room temperature) with yeast mixture to dry ingredients. Mix together and use immediately or store until ready for use. May be cut and covered and kept in the refrigerator for 7 to 10 days. Be sure to roll out on floured surface. Bake 20 to 25 minutes at 400\u00b0 to 425\u00b0.
