Spice Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

2 c. brown sugar, packed
2/3 c. shortening
2 c. water
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. ground cinnamon
1 tsp. ground cloves
2 tsp. baking soda
4 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
3 Tbsp. warm water
1 tsp. vanilla

Preparation

Place shortening into pan; add sugar, water, salt and spices and boil 3 minutes.
Cool and add flour, baking powder and soda. Mix well and put into a well-greased cake pan and bake in oven (275\u00b0) for 1 1/2 hours.
