Beef Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 to 1 1/2 lb. stew beef, cut in bite size
    salt and pepper to taste
    1 can beef consomme
    1 to 2 ends bread, crumbled
    1/2 onion, sliced
    1 jar mushrooms (optional)
Preparation
    Place beef in casserole; salt and pepper. Add soup and bread. Put onion slices on top; cover. Bake at 300\u00b0 for 3 hours or until tender. Add mushrooms. Serves 4. Serve over rice or noodles.
