Ingredients

1 egg
1 c. sugar
4 Tbsp. molasses
3/4 c. oil
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. ginger
1/2 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
2 c. flour
Preparation

Beat with mixer egg, sugar, molasses, oil, salt, soda, ginger, cloves and cinnamon.
Mix flour in with spoon.
Refrigerate until stiff.
Roll into balls the size of walnuts.
Dip in sugar.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 8 to 10 minutes.
Remove from oven while still puffy and light brown (otherwise, they'll be hard as rocks).
If you double the recipe, use 3 teaspoons soda.
