Tootie Fruity Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 box Duncan Hines Butter Recipe cake mix
    1 can crushed pineapple
    1 c. sugar
    1 box vanilla instant pudding
    1 large Cool Whip
    1 small pkg. coconut
    1 small can cherries
Preparation
    Mix cake according to directions on box.
    While cake is cooking, combine sugar and pineapple and cook over low heat, stirring occasionally.
    When cake is done, pour pineapple mixture over top of cake.
    Cool completely.
    Mix pudding according to directions and pour over pineapple mixture.
    Add Cool Whip then coconut.
    Decorate with cherries.
    Chill until ready to serve. (Can be frozen.)
