Bread Pudding - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. dry bread crumbs
4 c. milk, scalded
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
1/2 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 c. raisins
1/2 c. granulated sugar
2 Tbsp. cornstarch
1/4 tsp. salt
2 c. boiling water
1/4 c. butter or margarine
2 tsp. vanilla
dash of nutmeg, mace or cloves
Preparation

Combine first 3 ingredients in saucepan.
Slowly add boiling water; stir constantly to avoid lumps.
Simmer while stirring, about 5 minutes or until clear and thickened.
Remove; stir in rest of ingredients.
Serve hot on Cottage Pudding, Custard, Bread Pudding, Dutch Apple Cake, Applesauce Cake or any other cake you prefer.
Makes 2 cups.
