Congealed Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 small lemon or cherry jello
    1/2 c. water
    1 large can crushed pineapple
    1 c. mayonnaise
    1 c. evaporated milk
    1 c. mild Cheddar cheese, grated
    1/2 c. cherries, halved and drained
    1/2 c. whole pecans (I cut in pieces)
Preparation
    Simmer 1/2 cup of water with the pineapple juice drained from the can.
    Add jello and stir while it is simmering until it is dissolved.
    Add mayonnaise and milk; beat with mixer.
    Add nuts, cherries, pineapple and cheese.
    Put in refrigerator until congealed.
