60 Minute Batter Rolls - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. milk
    1/3 c. sugar
    1/3 c. shortening
    2 to 3 c. self-rising flour
    1 pkg. yeast (use 2 for extra fast rise)
    1/2 c. lukewarm water
Preparation
    Scald milk; stir in sugar.
    Add shortening and cool to lukewarm.
    Dissolve yeast in lukewarm water.
    Add to milk mixture. Add flour.
    Cover and set for 30 minutes in a warm place free from draft.
    The batter should be double in bulk.
    Knead on floured board.
    Roll out to desired thickness.
    Cut with biscuit cutter.
    Brush with margarine and let rise for 30 minutes.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 to 400\u00b0 until done.
