Chicken Cacciatore - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 1/2 to 3 lb. chicken
1/4 oil
2 medium onions, cut in 1/4-inch slices
2 cloves garlic, chopped
1 (16 oz.) can whole tomatoes
1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
1 tsp. oregano
1/2 tsp. celery seed
1 or 2 bay leaves
Preparation

Brown the chicken in the oil.
Remove chicken and cook the onions and garlic until tender, but not brown.
Return chicken to pot.
Combine tomatoes, tomato sauce, salt, pepper, oregano, celery seed and bay leaves.
Pour mixture over chicken.
Cover and simmer for 30 minutes.
Cook, uncovered, 15 minutes longer, or until chicken is tender, turning occasionally.
Remove bay leaves and skim off fat.
Serve.
