Apricot Nut Bread - cooking recipe

1 c. dried apricot halves
1 c. orange juice
2 c. sifted flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 c. light margarine
3/4 c. sugar
1 egg
1/2 c. low-fat milk
1 c. whole bran cereal
1/2 c. slivered blanched almonds
2 tsp. grated orange peel
Preparation

Dice apricots into 1/4-inch pieces.
Place apricots and orange juice in small saucepan over low heat and bring to a boil; continue cooking 5 minutes.
Remove from heat and cool.
