Eggnog Pie - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. cold water
1 Tbsp. gelatin
4 egg yolks
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. hot water
4 egg whites, beaten
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. nutmeg
rum (if desired)
Preparation

Sprinkle gelatin over cold water and set aside.
Beat egg yolks.
Add sugar, salt and hot water.
Cook and stir in double boiler until thickened.
Pour over gelatin and mix well.
Combine beaten egg whites, sugar and nutmeg.
Fold egg yolk mixture into egg white mixture.
Add rum, if desired.
Pour into 9-inch baked crust.
Chill.
Serve with whipped cream on top.
Sprinkle with nutmeg.
(For best results, do not double the recipe.)
