Pound Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 lb. country butter
    1/2 c. shortening
    3 c. sugar
    7 eggs
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 tsp. lemon
    3 c. plain flour, sifted
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
    pinch of salt
    1 c. sweet milk
Preparation
    Cream butter, shortening, and sugar until light and fluffy. Add lemon and vanilla extract and blend well. Add eggs one at a time and continue beating after each addition. Sift together flour, baking powder and salt; Add alternate to cream mixture with milk. Pour into large tube pan. Bake in 325\u00b0 oven for 1 1/2 hours, or until cake tests done.
