Ingredients

1 lb. okra
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 c. buttermilk
2 c. flour
1/2 c. corn meal
vegetable oil
1 tsp. baking powder
Preparation

Cut okra into one-inch slices.
Sprinkle okra with salt and buttermilk, stirring until well coated.
Let stand.
Drain okra well.
Drench in flour, corn meal and baking powder mixture.
Deep fry okra in hot oil until golden brown.
