Ingredients

1 c. butter
1 c. packed brown sugar
1/4 c. water
1 tsp. vanilla extract
3 c. quick cooking oats
1 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. baking soda
Preparation

In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar. Add water and vanilla. Mix well. Combine dry ingredients. Add to creamed mixture and mix well. Chill for 30 minutes. Shape into two 1 1/2-inch rolls. Wrap tightly in waxed paper. Chill for 2 hours or until firm. Cut into 1/2-inch slices and place 2-inches apart on greased baking sheets. Bake at 375\u00b0 for 12 minutes or until lightly browned. Remove to wire racks to cool.
