Tomato Sauce - Marinara - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 small onion, chopped
    garlic cloves, minced (lots)
    olive oil or cooking oil
    1 (28 oz.) can crushed tomatoes
    1 or 2 cans tomato paste (6 oz.)
    1 or 2 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce
    1/2 to 1 tsp. salt, basil, oregano, pepper and parsley
    pinch of sugar
Preparation
    Saute onion in olive oil until lightly brown.
    Add garlic. Add tomatoes, etc.
    Add spices, usually 1/2 teaspoon or more to taste.
    Add salt and sugar.
    Bring to a simmer, cover and cook at least 25 minutes, but it can cook 40 to 50 minutes.
