Hot Frito Dip - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 oz. butter or margarine (1 stick)
    3 large onions, chopped
    3 cloves garlic, chopped
    3 (4 oz.) cans chopped green chilies
    2 large cans whole tomatoes (48 oz.)
    1 (16 oz.) can whole tomatoes
    2 lb. loaf Velveeta cheese or Velveeta Light
Preparation
    Chop onions and garlic into semi-fine pieces.
    Saute onions and garlic in butter.
    Add 3 cans chopped green chiles.
    Drain whole tomatoes through a colander until almost dry.
    Add to onions and garlic.
    Cover and simmer one hour.
    Cut up Velveeta cheese and stir in until melted.
    Remove from heat.
    Divide into several servings.
    Freeze excess.
    Can be defrosted and reheated in microwave.
    Serve with white tortilla chips for dipping.
