Stuffed Mushrooms - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. mushrooms
    1 small chopped onion
    1/2 small green pepper, chopped
    3 Tbsp. margarine
    1 1/2 c. soft bread crumbs
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. thyme leaves
    1/4 tsp. ground turmeric
    1/4 tsp. margarine
Preparation
    Cut stems finely to make 1/3 cup.
    Cook and stir chopped mushrooms, onions and green pepper in 3 tablespoons butter until tender.
    Remove from heat.
    Stir in bread crumbs, salt, thyme, turmeric and pepper.
    Heat butter in shallow baking dish until melted.
    Fill precooked mushrooms with stuffing.
    Place mushrooms in dish.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 15 minutes.
    Set on broil and broil 3 to 4 inches from heat for 2 minutes.
    If desired, add some browned ground sausage in mixture and sprinkle with shredded
    Monterey Jack cheese.
