Old Fashioned Vanilla Ice Cream - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/4 c. sugar
    1/4 c. plus 2 Tbsp. flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 Tbsp. vanilla extract
    5 c. 1% milk
    4 eggs, beaten
    4 c. half and half
Preparation
    Combine sugar, flour and salt in saucepan.
    Gradually stir in milk.
    Cook over medium heat approximately 15 minutes or until thickened, stirring constantly.
    Gradually stir 1 cup of hot mixture into beaten eggs.
    Add to remaining hot mixture, stirring constantly.
    Cook 1 minute, remove from heat.
    In a large bowl, add chilled mixture, stirring with a wire whisk to combine.
    Freeze according to ice cream maker's directions.
