Hand-Me-Down Chocolate Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. butter
    1 3/4 c. sugar
    2 eggs
    2 c. flour
    3/4 c. cocoa
    1 1/4 tsp. baking soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 1/3 c. water
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
    Add eggs and vanilla.
    Sift dry ingredients together and add alternately with milk.
    Mix well after each addition.
    Pour into 2 greased and floured 8-inch baking pans. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 35 to 40 minutes.
