Apple Crisp - cooking recipe
Ingredients

5 cooking apples (about 3 lb.), pared, cored and thinly sliced
1/4 c. water
1/2 c. firmly packed light brown sugar
1/2 c. all-purpose flour
1/4 c. oats, uncooked
1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp. salt
1/3 c. butter or margarine, softened and cut into small pieces
Preparation

Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
Place apples in a greased, shallow 2 1/2-quart baking dish.
Pour water over apples.
In medium bowl, stir together sugar, flour, oats, cinnamon and salt.
Add butter. Using fingers, work in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Sprinkle crumb mixture evenly over apples.
Bake 45 to 50 minutes, until apples are fork-tender and topping is lightly browned.
