Almond Crescents - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. soft shortening (half butter)
1/3 c. sugar
2/3 c. ground blanched almonds
1 2/3 c. sifted flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. confectioners sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
Preparation

Mix thoroughly the shortening, sugar and almonds.
Sift together and work in the flour and salt.
Chill the dough.
Roll with hands, pencil-thick.
Cut in 2 1/2 inch lengths.
Form into crescents on ungreased baking sheet.
Bake until set-not brown. Cool on pan.
While slightly warm, carefully dip into the confectioners sugar and cinnamon mixture.
Bake at 325 degrees for 14-16 minutes.
Makes:
5 dozen 2 1/2 inch cookies.
