7 Layer Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. uncooked rice
    1 c. canned whole kernel corn, drained
    salt and pepper
    2 cans tomato sauce
    water
    1/2 c. each finely chopped onion and green pepper
    3/4 lb. uncooked ground beef (turkey or chicken)
    4 strips bacon, cut in halves
Preparation
    Start heating oven to moderate 350\u00b0.
    Place these ingredients in layers in a 2-quart baking dish with a tight fitting lid:
    first rice, then corn; sprinkle with salt and pepper.
    Pour over 1 can tomato sauce and 1/2 can water and layer onion, green pepper and ground beef.
    Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
    Pour second can tomato sauce and 1/4 can water.
    Cover meat with bacon, cut in halves.
    Cover and bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour.
    Uncover and bake 30 minutes longer until bacon is crisped.
