Caramels - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 3/4 c. white Karo syrup
1 3/4 c. evaporated milk
7/8 c. sweet cream
3 1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 lb. walnuts
1/4 lb. butter (not oleo)
Preparation

Place all ingredients in large pan.
Bring to boil and stir all the time.
When the mixture reaches 246\u00b0 on a candy thermometer, pour into a 13 x 9-inch pan greased with butter. Mark in squares, wrap in waxed paper when cool.
You can dip in chocolate.
(Don't add the walnuts until just before you pour in buttered dish.)
