Spice Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 1/4 c. sugar
1 c. buttermilk
1/2 tsp. cloves
2 Tbsp. cocoa
1/2 c. strawberry preserves
1 tsp. soda (add last)
2 c. cake flour
1/2 c. butter
2 eggs
1/2 tsp. cinnamon

Preparation

Cream the butter and sugar.
Add eggs.
Sift in dry ingredients.
Add soda, dissolved in a little warm water, last. Bake at 350\u00b0.
Frost with caramel icing with chopped pecans.
