Blackberry Jam Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    1 c. buttermilk
    6 eggs
    1 c. dates
    2 tsp. cinnamon
    1 c. raisins
    1 c. coconut (if desired)
    1 c. seedless blackberry jam
    1 1/2 c. butter
    1 tsp. soda
    3 c. flour
    1 c. nuts
    2 tsp. cloves
Preparation
    Cream butter and sugar; add milk and dry ingredients.
    Add eggs one at a time, beating after each addition.
    Add fruit.
    Bake at 250\u00b0 until done.
    Do not overcook.
    Makes 3 layers.
