Dinner Rolls - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/3 c. shortening
    1/2 c. sugar
    2 c. scalded milk
    1 cake yeast
    1 tsp. black pepper
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. soda
    5 1/2 c. flour
Preparation
    Add shortening and sugar to milk; cool.
    Dissolve yeast in 1/2 cup milk mixture.
    Add black pepper, salt and soda to remaining milk.
    Add flour to make a spongy dough.
    Let rise until double. Punch down until double knead.
    Shape into rolls.
    Bake in greased pans at 375\u00b0 for 10 to 12 minutes.
