Linguine With White Clam Sauce - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    8 oz. (1/2 pkg.) linguine
    1 medium onion, chopped
    2 cloves garlic, minced
    3 Tbsp. butter or margarine
    3 (6 1/2 oz. each) cans minced clams or whole clams
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. dried basil leaves
    1/8 tsp. pepper
    fresh grated Parmesan cheese
Preparation
    Cook linguine according to package and drain.
    Meanwhile, in a large saucepan, saute onion, garlic in melted butter or margarine. Add clams with juice, salt, basil and pepper.
    Heat to boiling, reduce heat and simmer 3 to 5 minutes.
    Serve clam sauce over hot linguine.
    Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
    Yields 4 to 5 servings.
