Refrigerator Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 qt. sliced thin cucumbers
    1 large onion, sliced thin
    1 large bell pepper, sliced thin
    1 large red pepper, sliced thin
    3 c. sugar
    2 c. vinegar
    1/4 c. salt
    1 Tbsp. celery seed
Preparation
    Heat sugar, vinegar, salt and celery seed until sugar is melted.
    Completely cool before pouring over other ingredients in a large bowl.
    Cover for 24 hours.
    Put in jars.
    Ready to eat. May be kept up to a year in the refrigerator.
