Cranberry Fruit Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sifted flour
    1 c. sugar
    1 1/2 tsp. sugar
    1/2 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. salt
    juice and grated rind of 1 orange
    2 Tbsp. melted butter
    boiling water
    1 egg, well beaten
    1/2 c. chopped nuts
    1 1/2 c. cranberries, coarsely chopped
Preparation
    Sift together flour, sugar, baking powder, soda and salt. Pour orange juice into measuring cup.
    Add orange rind, melted shortening and enough boiling water to make 3/4 cup.
    Combine orange juice mixture and well beaten egg.
    Stir liquid mix into dry ingredients (only until dry ingredients are dampened).
    Fold in chopped cranberries and chopped nuts.
    Pour into greased pan (9 x 5 x 13-inch).
    Push batter to sides and corners.
    Let stand 20 minutes before baking.
    Bake 50 to 60 minutes at 350\u00b0.
