Corny Fritters - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 pkg. (1 Tbsp.) dry yeast
    1 tsp. sugar
    1/4 c. warm water
    1/2 c. cornmeal
    1/3 c. sugar
    1/3 c. shortening
    2 tsp. salt
    1 3/4 c. milk
    3/4 c. cream-style corn
    2 lightly beaten eggs
    6 c. flour
Preparation
    Dissolve yeast, sugar and warm water.
    In a heavy saucepan, combine cornmeal, sugar, shortening, salt and milk.
    Cook until thickened, stirring often.
    Cool until lukewarm.
    In a large bowl, combine corn and eggs.
    Stir in yeast mixture and cooled cornmeal mixture.
    Mix thoroughly; then stir in 5 cups flour.
