Navajo Fry Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. flour
    1 Tbsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 3/4 c. milk
Preparation
    Mix
    together flour, baking powder and\tsalt.
    Add
    1/4 cup milk and mix well.\tAdd the rest of the milk a little at a time. Knead the dough until it is soft.
    Cover
    the
    bowl and let it stand for 15 minutes.
    Make balls 2
    or 3 inches across and
    roll them into pancakes 1/4 inch thick.\tPoke
    holes
    in them with a fork.
    Melt shortening in
    skillet.
    Fry
    pancakes until brown and turn over and brown on other side.
