Buttermilk Pound Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. Crisco
    3 c. sugar
    5 egg yolks and whites
    1/2 tsp. soda
    1 Tbsp. boiling water
    1 c. buttermilk
    3 c. sifted plain flour
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Cream together Crisco and sugar.
    Add egg yolks, one at a time.
    Scald soda in boiling water and add to buttermilk.
    Add alternately with flour.
    Add vanilla.
    whip 5 egg whites and fold into batter.
    Bake at 325\u00b0 for 1 hour and 25 minutes.
