English Toffee Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. margarine
    1 c. sugar
    1 egg, separated
    2 c. flour
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 c. chopped pecans
Preparation
    Cream
    margarine
    and sugar together until smooth.
    Add the egg
    yolk
    and
    mix in thoroughly.\tSift the flour and add the cinnamon.
    Add flour mixture to the creamed mixture, using your hands
    to blend thoroughly. Spread evenly over the entire surface of\ta greased 10 x 15-inch cookie sheet.
    Beat the egg white slightly
    and
    spread
    on
    top
    of\tbatter.
    Press\tnuts overall. Bake in
    275\u00b0 oven for 1 hour.
    Cut in 1 1/2 squares when still hot.
