Red Cabbage And Apples - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 Tbsp. bacon fat
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    1 chopped onion
    4 c. shredded red cabbage
    2 tart apples, sliced
    2 Tbsp. vinegar
    salt and pepper
Preparation
    Melt fat in large skillet.
    Add sugar.
    Stir until brown.
    Add onion and cook slowly until golden.
    Add cabbage, apples, vinegar and seasoning to taste.
    Cook very slowly until all ingredients are tender.
    Add a little water, if necessary to prevent sticking. Serves 4.
