Never Fail Fudge - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    2/3 c. milk
    1 stick butter
    1 tsp. vanilla
    4 Tbsp. cocoa
    pinch of salt
    1 1/2 c. nuts (optional)
Preparation
    Mix sugar, cocoa, milk, salt and butter together and boil over direct heat for 3 minutes, stirring constantly.
    Cool in pan or sink of cold water. Beat rapidly until it loses its gloss. Add nuts and vanilla.
    Pour into buttered dish and when cool, cut in squares. Yields about 24 pieces.
