Date Pudding Ii - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. dates, chopped fine
    1 c. hot water
    1 tsp. soda
    1 c. sugar
    1 Tbsp. butter
    1 c. flour
    1 egg
    1 c. nuts
Preparation
    Pour hot
    water over dates and soda.
    Dissolve and let set until cool. Mix
    the remainder of ingredients, then add date mixture.
    Put in a 9 x 9-inch pan and bake.
    When ready to serve, crumble cake in a dish alternately
    with
    vanilla pudding.
    Serve with whipped cream.
    You can also add miniature marshmallows and bananas.
