Cherry Brunch Muffins - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 egg
    3/4 c. milk
    1/4 c. vegetable oil
    3 Tbsp. maraschino cherry syrup
    2 c. all-purpose flour*
    1/4 c. sugar
    1/4 c. chopped maraschino cherries
    3 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. salt
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    2 Tbsp. chopped almonds
Preparation
    Heat oven to 375\u00b0.
    Grease bottoms of 12 medium muffin cups or line with paper baking cups.
    Beat egg, stir in milk, oil and cherry syrup.
    Mix in flour, 1/4 cup sugar, cherries, baking powder and salt just until flour is moistened.
