Grandma Carbonara'S Spaghetti Sauce - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. lamb shanks, cut into 2 to 3-inch pieces
    meatballs and/or light sausage
    1 large can tomato sauce
    1 large can tomato paste
    2 cloves chopped garlic
    1 to 2 chopped onions
    1 tsp. oregano
    1 tsp. basil
    1 tsp. parsley
Preparation
    Brown lamb shanks.
    When almost cooked, add onions and garlic. Cook a minute, then add tomato sauce and paste.
    Simmer until all is tender. Add the oregano, basil and parsley.
    Let simmer 2 to 3 hours, adding water if needed.
    About 1/2 hour prior to serving, place meatballs and sausage in sauce which has already been 3/4 cooked.
