Onion Sandwiches - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 large sweet onion
    1 c. vinegar
    1 c. water
    1 c. sugar
Preparation
    Chop onion fine.
    Combine with water, sugar and vinegar; bring to a boil.
    Let cool overnight.
    Drain the onions the next day. Use white bread, trimming off brown edges.
    Spread mayonnaise and powdered sugar on bread, then onions (about 1 teaspoon per sandwich).
    Put together and cut into finger sandwiches.
    (Can be frozen and thawed to use later.)
