Chinese Chews - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    3/4 c. flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. salt
    2 eggs
    1 c. dates, chopped
    1 c. walnuts, chopped
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 c. powdered sugar
Preparation
    Sift together sugar, flour, baking powder and salt.
    Beat eggs, dates, nuts, vanilla and flour mixture.
    Place batter in a greased 8 x 8 x 2-inch baking pan.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 40 minutes. While hot, cut in small squares, then roll into balls.
    Dust with powdered sugar.
    Makes 4 dozen delicious cookies.
